John Arthur represents House District 41, which includes the iconic Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons, most of Cottonwood Heights, and portions of Holladay, Midvale, and Murray. After advocating for years on behalf of teachers, public workers, and everyday Utahns, Representative Arthur was elected to serve his community in the Utah Legislature in 2024.

A National Board Certified Teacher and the 2021 Utah Teacher of the Year, John Arthur has spent his career working alongside students, families, and fellow educators to strengthen public education. He is the author of The Digital Projects Playbook: A Step-by-Step Guide to Empowering Students as Creators and has served in leadership roles supporting teacher development and student advocacy at both the state and national levels.

In the Legislature, Representative Arthur is focused on advancing policies that support Utah’s students and educators, improve our public education system, address the crisis at the Great Salt Lake, make life more affordable for Utah families, and promote environmental stewardship throughout the state. Outside the Capitol, John treasures his time in the classroom with his students and at home with his wife, Stacey, and their daughters, Ione and Valentine.
